-Cool!
A friend of mine took this amazing shoot a cold day in february, in Rome. Just had to share it to the world!
It’s like it’s from back in the days, yet not. Really love the composition, the romans face expression, the Colosseum in the back …

Who are You!?
After a long and hopefully a great christmas. It’s time to start using that brain of yours.
I know I feel inspired after all the holidays and can’t wait to get started!
I’ll be using my right side as usual – How about you?

Beeeeeeer!
Last night when I had some time for my self I past this bar, that had this “classic” beer. If you’ve seen The Simpsons a couple of times you know what I’m talking about. So, I just had to go in and get one!
The taste? Well, one’s enough. Premium beer my … But, I dig the idea though! And totally overpriced.
By the way …
… this is me Simpsonized!

Versace H&M-outfit
Got surprised the other day by my wife. A pre-x-mas gift I guess. She loves me yeah, yeah … But I can tell you this; I will not wear it all at the same time! I don’t want to look like Karim Rashid … no offense K. :P

Red Shoes – Bald with Balls
You have to check out my brilliant friend ‘Bald with Balls’ aka David Erikssons latest clip; ‘Red Shoes’ … he’s working on a new act. Can’t wait to see it live.
Wonder if it’s the one I inspired him with a fitting name …? Time will tell.

Stefan Holms adventsljusstake!

Sköna citat och highlights;
“Det är roligare att vinna än att förlora”
/pappa Holknekt
“Var rädd om det ni har.”
“Jag håller på. Är nyfiken.
Sitt inte bara hemma o drick vin.”
“Flera spön i vattnet. Rätt vad det är händer det.”
“Tajming.
IHM > Gottlers 5 P:n … lite koll.
“Jag kan INGENTING. Men jag är fan BÄST på det jag inte kan.”
Utmaningen är moroten. Var inte så trygg. Våga prova.
“Egocentrering är ens största fiende.”
“Jag tror på dig!” Våga tro på andra. “De orden gör underverk”
“Krångla fan inte till det. Fryser du? Här har du en filt!”
“Kvinna vill ha kaffe. Man vill ha franchasing! Manligt o kvinnligt. Spännande dynamik.”
“Odd Molly
12 investerare tackade nej
Men WTF.
Play Space Invaders!
Sony Ericsson W880i
If it wouldn’t have been for the iPhones amazing functions and versatility I would probably still be using my old Sony Ericsson W880i! The feel it offers is hard to beat.
And of course the design – I love it – It’s beautiful futuristic retro look. I get a slight ’2001 a space odyssey’-fell to it. Not very many cell phones has this quality feel to it as this metallic beauty. Most phones feel rather plastic. This feels really exclusive.
Since I’m so hooked on my synchronized life with iPhone I have to come up with something else to do with it. Maybe frame it – Like All my Ray-Bans from the 90′s …
My new bloody jeans!
Yesterday I checked out a sale. Guess what I found – A pair of bloody Diesel jeans for 50 kr!!!
That’s a good deal right? Hmmm … Wonder were they come from?
They’re like directly snatched from a episode of Dexter! Or … !?
Seriously, it’s paint.
And I guess I got two choices either wear them at home or use them for Halloween. I couldn’t really see my self wearing them in public. So I guess there’s a reason why they never really became a bestseller. I paid 50 kr for them! That’s like nothing. Like a Big Mac menu. They used to cost like 1400 kr, and that’s like 27 menus!
Well, I’m happy – now I got a pair of new painter-jeans! You guys should see my painter shirt … well, that’s another story.
Starlight
When you have children you start doing all kids of weird stuff just to make them happy. Some ideas better then others …
Anyhow. When my son was little he liked staring at everything that moved and sparkled. So for his one year birthday we had a party in the livingroom. When we styled the party – I thought the livingroom lamp was a tiny serious and grown up. So I took his baby mobile and put inside the lamp. It matched perfectly. Since the inside of our lamp was golden it gave this really nice glow to all the transparent stars and planets.
We still keep it that way. Just for fun. And I think my son still digs it.
So don’t be afraid to mix things. I might turn out better then it was before. If not a little kitch always put a smile on someones face – maybe yours even.
Star Wars Scanimation book
When I buy stuff for my son I try to find something out of the ordinary. And sometimes something that has to do with my past …
I watched alot of movies as a youngster – we even had a video rental place for a short period of my life … So if I had to pick one iconic movie to introduce to my son it would have to be STAR WARS.
So when I ran in to this cool Star Wars book with scenes from a galaxy far, far away … I just had to get it. *And it even came with actual movie dialogues! Yeay!*
Check out the clip below and let yourself be fascinated by the retro scanimation technology!
When he’s big enough I’ll get him (us of course) a light saber! We’ll be saber fighting until I take off my mask and say;
“Luke I’m your father!”. We hug and take off in to the kitchen and eat ice cream instead. Laughing.
See a film clip of the retro effects in the Star Wars-book
Stitch – an experience
One of my most recent design purchases is Stitch by Lamp Gustaf. Which reminded me of that good design is just not about The product it’s also an experience!
Good design in my opinion comes in 4 stages;
… and of course the most important one;
For the best experience (and the happiest customers) you want to enjoy all the stages!
Macintosh is by the way very good at this … and more and more are starting to understand the meaning of experiencing a purchase.
Change of heart
I must admit, in one of my earlier Design Stake Outs I gave the Stitch-pendant only a *** (3 star rating), which I have to upgrade now when I’ve considered all the Stages above. It definatly deserves a **** (4 star rating)! Why it doesn’t get a 5, even though The Stitch-lamp is a school example of good design? Well, it still takes work and some eye to make it really good looking. And everyone doesn’t have the energy to interact with it’s product. But since it’s not done yet – I’ll keep my rating open. I’d happily change it again if the making process and result lives up to it’s expectations. Which brings me to …
What motif do you suggest we’d stitch in to this lamp?
I’m very much in to retro pixel kind of looks … at the moment I’m thinking Space Invader!
What do you think a little guy would appriciate in his room!?

Classic typeface on a fun poster!
*I feel with the graphic designer who made this poster. Sometimes people just don’t know how much work there is behind a really well executed logotype!*
Space Invader in Rome
I just found this picture in my back up!
When I was in rome, last fall I think, I ran in to this street piece. By Space Invader!
I really dig it. Especially the contrasts between the roughness of old Rome and Space Invaders humouristic retro game mosaic hand crafted work. I like that it subtle and not messing with the history the building carries. It’s like it’s always been there. Yet not!
I think the shot captured it pretty well too. The stream of light really adds to the mystery …
Pssst.
If you don’t know who Space Invader is check out the Banksy documentary – ‘Exit throught the giftshop’
Hate Comic Sans!
I don’t know what it is with people* and their obsessive usage of the typeface Comic Sans!?
It’s everywhere! And it’s always as painfull watching …
I guess people* are trying to express themselves in a more friendly, charming, personal way.
I’m sorry to say guys; I just looks reeeally cheap and amature like!
The poster above is the best I’ve seen in a long time. Thinking of buying it asap!
A friendly advice for you whom it may concern;
Please, don’t ever ever use it again. It scares people away! Especially those with taste.
Write something by hand instead.
*Excuse me for saying; amateurs
It’s all in the composition!
The other day I was checking out a house … and pretty much the only interesting I found in it was this poster of Igor Stravinsky shot by Arnold Newman. I really love the composition! And …
The attention of the piano, the slight dull apperance of Stravinsky (like it’s just a job, take the damn picture), the repetition of the body language and piano, the graphic black and white look, the lines … it’s brilliant!
Arnold Newman was a masterportraiter.
So the lesson to be learned here is – It’s all in the composition!
Said and understood by many great artist, once again repeated and can never be said enough.
Refreshing Cover

PA¥ FOR JAPAN
The other day I was looking through my artworks and I saw my piece ‘Acta Non Verba’ … at the same time I was going through my latest tweets and saw the brilliant initiative “PA¥ FOR JAPAN” (www.payforjapan.com)!

Kravitz on the wall!
I’ve got competition! Of Mr Cool himself Lenny Kravitz who’s releasing a wallpaper collection. Seriously I wouldn’t mind a wall of my fellow designer at my crib.
It’s inspired from his visits to Brazil. In mind he wanted to do something sexy and with rythm – that reminded of the people he met there.
Keep up the cool work buddy!
Aguariva by Gucci
Fantastico!
Riva has always been top of the line when it comes to boat design. Especially when it comes to boats that is symbiotic with quality of life. Here’s a sneak peak of their latest co-operation, with Gucci!
Check out those sleek lines, chrome details, streamline design, the dark wood vs the white finnish. Perfection in action. A boat for pleasure and leasure!

Make my day Punk!
I tasted a new beer, to me, the other day; PUNK IPA. A high quality Indian Pale Ale. Good shit! But I think I like the idea behind it the best. Love the attitude in the texts and design. Check it out!
Must be something for my buddy Christian Beijer. Or what do you say C? Wish you all a great weekend!
–Cheers!
Wake up call!
Got i nice tip the other day about a simple yet very storytelling artpiece in Parc de Chaudfontaine, Belgium. I love because it has both humour and a message. It’s like we need to hold on to the world, if not it will slip away … Beautiful and powerful – in it’s simplest form.
Blew me away
Here’s interesting piece of furniture; A inflatable sofa. I found it at the Beer & Whisky festival in Stockholm. It was actually really comfortable to sit in. The cool thing about it was that it felt like leather. I could see me having a set of these by the pool. Lounging with the kids …
The Alien Abduction Lamp!
I don’t know if it’s cool or just ugly. But it sure is funny! And I must admit, most charming. *I might even get my son of these!* If it would work with our CROP rugs I don’t know – I’ll let you be the judge of that.
Thanks for the tip Erik!
Banksy’s the greatest street artist, ever!
I could upload pictures for days to show you how brilliant this street artist is. But I chose to show his brilliance by this simple act. All you need to do is Google Banksy and you’ll find enough to keep You busy all day instead. I bought his book, Banksy – wall and piece couple of years ago, which I also recommend to new fans … The best about his artwork is his messages to the world. Some political, some ironic some just goofy … his timing is always spot on. Check him out asap! I dig. Do you!?
Barbwire chandelier
Check this cool chandelier out. I found it at Gränsö Slott, where we stayed for a couple of days after the wedding. It feels very right and wrong at the same time. Political even. Get slight apartheid feel to it as well. It was rather small, but yet very powerful.
You can’t dodge this beauty!
Talk about taking a something old and beautiful and making it new and up to date. I wouldn’t mind driving the black striped one to the right as a business car. It would suit my modest profile like a glow!

The funniest Sports Tee
This t-shirt is freaking brilliant! I love it. Talk about having it all … the joy, the clichés, the interaction and the looks. Graphic works at it’s best!
Too much to handle!?
This motorbike is just too much – I love it! Sci-fi meets Art Deco! I’d love to see some cool retro superhero riding this baby around in a movie. If I would drive it. Don’t know as said it’s little too much, but I just love it. I would definatly own it. Maybe keep it as a installation at home. ;)
People who know me, know that I am a big fan of retro things especially from the sixties. Got any cool stuff from the era, let me know! Drive safe.
So this is how!
A super funny illustration by the artist Glenn Jones … So this is how they come about! Thanks Glenn. Keep up the good work!
Worlds best looking vacuum cleaner!
To vacuum may not be the most fun thing to do in the world … but with this baby it sure feels much better. And that it is one of the worlds most quite ones just makes it even better.

Intersting info from producer:
