Let me present to you: ‘LOVE CONNECTION’
Finallly I get to present my piece of furniture to the world, the ‘Love Connection’!
Yesterday it was official at Stockholm Furniture Fair.
Here’s the producer Green Furniture Sweden’s words;
It started with a Love Seat idea – connected armchairs facing each other.
And while connecting, why not connect many (a lot of Love!). And if making
the armchairs from several smaller ‘pieces of pie’, different sizes armchairs
can be made and connecting them can make a winding creation of Love.
Adding straight pieces shapes a sofa and the Love is complete!
Upholstered on a wooden frame with horse hair/natural rubber topped with
wool felt and eco labelled fabrics.
The fair is on for the whole week. Do come and have a love connection with us! :P

A couple of my designs had a nice appearence in the magazine Härligt Hemma. The showed one of the new color settings on trays and classic black and white Pride Romance wallpaper. Fun. Nice mix of stuff!

Topographic fruit bowl
Found this online the other day. A fruit bowl I designed a couple of years ago for a company that wanted a different kind of give away. Which is inspired by their business. They work with measuring landscapes for constructions … so in short it’s a topographic map formed as a fruit bowl!

Marcus hallway
Here’s a taste of how nice my wallpaper ‘Coathangers’ can look in a hallway. I think it’s really cool that he dared to go with the negative design (light color on dark background).

Release party Design M Collection
On the 25th we had a release party for our Design M Collection – at one of Electrolux Home shops in central Stockholm. It was a great night with lots of people and a whole lot of fun.
Soon the collection will reach out 60 Electrolux Home shops around the country! My first pattern out is Blue Print. A couple of more are coming out soon.

4 stjärnors middag – Federley
The other day on TV was the new show 4 stjärnors middag (4 Star Dinner), in this episode they visited Fredrick Federley. He made a classic swedish dish called Isterband (which I thought was very daring but cool – I love it). But the most cool thing is that you could see my designs; The dining table with my Blue Print-pattern (green/white) and Pride Romance wallpaper (pink/black) in the bedroom. Looks great in your flat, Fredrick!

NORRKÖPINGSDUO TOG HEM SILVER I SVENSKA DESIGNPRISET
Designern Peter Mäkelä och art director Anna Tollwé från Norrköping vann silver när Svenska Designpriset delades ut på Moderna Museet. De fick priset för sin produkt Blödarsjuka för Dummies, ett informations- och utbildningsmaterial som distribueras av Förbundet Blödarsjuka i Sverige.
- Vi är jättestolta med vårt silver. Speciellt när man ser till konkurrensen, som bestod av de största och mest meriterade reklambyråerna i landet. Vår son är själv blödarsjuk och vi tycker att det är viktigt att få ut informationen på ett nytänkande sätt, vilket har tagits emot oerhört positivt, säger Peter Mäkelä.
Svenska Designpriset är en årlig tävling för alla inom grafisk kommunikation så som reklambyråer, förlag, informatörer, tidningar, webbyråer, grafiska formgivare.

Lately I’ve been cooking and baking quite alot!
Especially baking isn’t really something I usually do … but since we have a one year old it’ll be atleast one more time every year.
Anyhow. I always try to find the aestetichs in everything I do. If it is my twisted mind or just some obsessive behaviour – I will leave unsaid. I’d like to think it’s a inspiring challenge, though I consider myself a boarderless designer.
So why not put that extra touch in the food I cook and cakes bake!

Visualisering Effektfabriken
Nils Möbler + Konceptuella möbler
Två profiler inom den moderna möbelformgivningen kommer från Västernorrland. Båda två heter de Nils. Den världsberömde Nisse Strinning är en av dem. Grundaren av Europamöbler, inredaren Nils Lindholm, den andre.
Möbeltillverkning och kända storsnickare har en lång historia i länet. Både hantverksskicklighet och formkänsla ger sig till känna i länsmuseets samlingar. Den produktion som bär Nisse Strinning och Nils Lindholms märke hör hemma i en modernistisk tradition från 1950-, 60- och 70-tal. De bildar en bro mot samtiden och framtiden.
Det fjärde tillägget i utställningen Nils möbler+ visar formgivning där designern tänker utanför ramarna och utvecklar koncept som inte är begränsade av dagens teknik och material. Samtliga möbler som visas i utställningen är formgivna av designers som finns i eller har anknytning till länet. Peter Mäkelä är en av dessa möbelvisionärer.
Peter Mäkelä kommer att ställa ut en digital visualisering på den prisbelönta konceptstolen Angel Chair och en av mattorna, Golden Ball, från CROP Carpets Collection samt ett par nytänkande tapetmönster.
Utställningen har premiär den 11 januari 2011.

Tanken är att logotypen är hämtat från verkligheten, barnens verklighet; sommaren på den spännande Bosse-ön. Illustrationen kan t ex även användas i annonsering eller som sidfot på ett brevpapper …

Welcome to my collection of wallpapers and patterns. I get alot of questions about all my patterns and especially how to order them. Mainly my wallpapers and patterns are used by interior designers and architects. So they can appear non existing.
My vision is that all my designs are available to everyone. Here’s a short presentation of the patterns, my thoughts and how to go about to get them. Hope you like what you see.
QUALITY
All wallpapers are non woven; which means that they are seamless and are mounted edge to edge. The wallpapers are durable, strong and has a high opacity. They are also easy to wipe. All the patterns are digitally printed. When it’s time to remount, there is no need for joint sanding and use of filler. Just put the new one on top of the old. Hopefully you’ll find my patterns timeless and will enjoy them for a long time.
NOT JUST WALLPAPERS
Some patterns are even available on products, as; reversable table tops, splashbacks (kitchen), tray tables, chairs, trays, coasters …

Wedding rings designed by Love
I’ve always dreamt of designing jewelry … so when I got married I just had to design my first ring to my loving wife!
Here’s the story behind the story
It’s not easy designing something for that person that means the world to you. Especially a wedding ring! She’s going to wear that piece for the rest of our lives … and you certainly don’t want to eat it up for the reeest of our lives *I’m almost starting to sweat again, like I did when I came up with the idea* But no guts, no glory, right!?
I like working with sublime symbolism in my creations. And when it comes to love it’s always very cliché. So my mind started thinking about us in terms of numbers. My number has always been 7 and my spouse’s 21. The tricky part was how to interact it in our rings – in a non tacky way. So I came up with this riddle;
7+21=2∞
(P+A= WE 2 FOREVER)
So what was I going to do with it!?
My typface has always been Futura (it’s very clean and timeless and has a nice touch of retro feel to it), so I started sketching with the number 7 in that specific typface. I came up with the idea that the three 7s should hold the diamond. In a protective kind of grip. And multiplied together they become 21. Problem solved! My wife came up with the splendid idea that I should have 7 small stones on the side of my ring. First I was kind of sceptic to it, though I’ve never been very fond of diamonds for my self. But the more I thought about it I thought it was … brilliant! Problem two solved. What a teamwork! *This marriage is off to a good start* So all I had to do now was to finalize my sketches and find a goldsmith that believes in the idea. And I did. Sometimes small changes makes all the difference. When the IT-consultant company opened up a in Norway, they wanted to update their logotyp. See the result above. Do you agree to the changes?
In memory of daddy-tattoo
Once in awhile I get a request that my soft heart can’t say no to … and of course not charge for either.
Passing of a father must be one of the toughest things a child can go through. And to honour that special bond with something everlasting – it should be made out of respect, care and beauty.
Hope this simple gesture will inspire you along Your path through life.
My thoughts …
In my illustration I’ve tried to captivate the essence of their relationship and other important symbolism, like:
– Eternal love/bond
– Sorrow and happiness
– Recovery and regrowth
– Darkness and hope
Still try to keep a maskuline look, with a tad of feminine touch. That’s the way I see the future man. A man who’s naturally manly but yet not afraid of showing he’s feminine side.

At home with Fredrick Federley (article)
In todays Expressens Extra you can read about a nice At Home with-article at the wellknown politician Fredrick Federley. Most fun is that you can see my creations in the newly decorated home, like my wallpaper Pride Romance and table Blue Print.

“You can find alot of Fredricks personality in the interior. He chose the wallpaper in his bedroom ‘Pride Romance’ from the ‘Pride Collection’. If you look closely you’ll see it’s really dirty, he says with a big smile and tells us about when he told his mother about it she nearly flipped when she saw the details.”
Fredrick also has a large dinner table with the pattern ‘Blue Print’, in happy “Center party-green”. The pattern is exactly what it’s called a blue print – but over my old flat, and my neighbours!

This weekend got the politician Fredrick Federleys apartment styled, by Designmäklarna! Here’e a teaser picture from his kitchen. The lamp is a classic from Luceplan; Costanza Grande.
The black and beautiful cups are designed by Marie-Louise Hellgrens. And the table with the pattern ‘Blue Print’ is by me! Fun huh!?
Now on thursday, sept 16th you can read about the homestyling at Mr Federleys place, in Expressen. Me personally is very curious about the bedroom, I heard some rumours about that he’s got my Pride Romance pattern in there … in hot pink and black!

A kick ass outfit
Wouldn’t it be cool to dress your kid up as Bruce Lee!? I know you boys out there know what I’m talking about! I don’t know if it’s because my son is starting to make a lot of weird faces and arm movements like a character in a Kung Fu movie, that made me think of this old baby outfit I drew some time ago … It would be a kick ass outfit, though.

Här har vi henne det nya ansiktet utåt för Stödebröd. En modern bagerska, som blickar in i framtiden – En superbagerska!
Snart kommer det brödpåsar ut på marknaden också … håll ögonen öppna.
My first table!
Her she is. My first produced table. I call it ‘La Table’ – since it’s made out of laminate, HPL (high pressure laminate) to be exact, and to give at more sophisticated touch. In short you could say it’s an out door modern french coffee table. It’s supposed to come out in three different sizes; Livingroom table, Coffee table and Bar table. It’s made out of three pieces so it’s easy to ship and handle. And made out of 100% raw paper, so the black color is natural. A cool detail is that the table board is reversable and you can choose between a various selection of different graphic designed patterns.

Stockholm Furniture Fair 2010 [report]
Stockholm Furniture Fair 2010 was a great success. It’s hard to sum up the whole amazing week in short. It was so jam packed with exciting meetings, introductions and releases … But I can for sure say that the most fun of it all are all the new and interesting co-operations with aware and openminded producers. That believe in me and my far out ideas! So keep your eyes open soon you’ll see a number of my collections on the market. First out is CROP Carpets Collection for A-Carpet. After that Pride Collection for Design M. And more to come …
Things I will remember for a long time are; The CROP Carpet and green design chat with Maud Olofsson, Andrea Ruggieros kind words. The walk about with deputy primeminister, Olle Melkerhed Not-loosing his camera. The release party of Design M’s showroom. And of course all the wonderful visitors and collegues.

The jewelry brand Happycolor wanted a new clean and simple website. Here’s one of the sketches.

Västernorrlandsfonden ville illustrera hur de jobbar utanför regionen.
Då ritade jag denna illustration som fick visualisera deras gränslöshet; Golden Gatebron integrerad med Höga Kustenbron.
Mycket uppskattad blev den.
Blue Print – table
Here’s interesting table solution – specially for you who likes variation. This table has a reversable solution. Which meens in short that you can have a more far out pattern och one side and a more allround sober one on the other. Cool huh. Here you can se my pattern Blue Print. It’s inspired by my apartment I had when I lived in the historic building Hirschka Huset, in Sundsvall. If you look really close you can even see how it was furnished. I hade some quite famous neighbours as well. But in there flat I just made up how it could look like. But ours is authentic. After drawing our and the neighbours places it took the blue print and rotated it and created this repetitive pattern you can see above.
This pattern is also avaliable as a wallpaper. Orders through the producer Design M.
The below pictures are from Ciao Umeå event last year. You can see my table board on top of a stand from the cool danish HAY. The picture to the right are just samples of the pattern in different colours, from the factory.

We’ve been nominated to the Swedish Design Awards with our profiling for Özz Nûjens Media company. So much fun to get noticed for our creativity.

Sundsvall har fått en skyline
Vi ritade en skyline över Sundsvall i ett uppdrag till Sundsvalls kommun. De blev så förtjusta i den så nu vill de använda den illustrationen exklusivt för att marknadsföra staden.
Den har t ex hamnat på de upplysta välkomstskyltarna längs E4:an. Kul tycker vi.
Norrlands Huvudstad™ starkt på G …
Idag fick vi ett trevligt besked att Sweet Williams och Paizano Design fått förnyat förtroende av NHS™. Det var ju vi som tog fram konceptet. Och nu har vi fått förtroendet att utveckla det. Kul!

och även i år handlar det om profilering och framtagning av priser. Priserna är framtagna i samarbete med emalj-konstnären Mikael Arvidsson.

Eniro/Ericsson har investerat en BizArt™
I passagen mellan Eniro och Ericssons Sundsvallskontor sitter det numera en trevlig BizArt-kreation som går under namnet Connections.
Tavlan är ljussatt med LED-belysning och ger ett spännande intryck i deras tråkiga entrépassage. Vi har redan fått flera förfrågningar…

Kasino-trofén levererad
Äntligen Casino Cosmopols trofédrakar kommit! Så nu har de snygga priser att dela ut …
Trofén är en utveckling på kasinots På Stan-drakar. Så det är alltså en avbild av ‘Allan Ballan’, men på troféerna gör han pokergesten “Well Played”, som en final touch. Så nu är det bara anmäla sig till diverse pokerturneringar på Casino Cosmopol och försöka spela hem den! Lycka till!
BizArt™ till Delicerano
I veckan monterades ett BizArt-verk upp på det nyöppnade italienska caféet och delit Delicerano. Det grafiska verket kallar vi ‘Italian Coffee Stains’ – Besök gärna Delicerano på Sjögatan! Deras färskpasta är outstanding. Glöm inte att slänga ett öga på tavlan. ;)
Nordekens kontor klart!
Då var det äntligen kontorer färdig inrett och klart. Vi och Nordeken är mycket nöjda med resultatet. Deras nya kontor hittar ni på Esplanaden 25, vid SF. Är ni nyfikna så är det bara att hälsa på. De bjuder säkert på gott kaffe från nyinköpta kaffemaskinen.
Delicerano profilering
Logotyp i tre varianter. Retrokänsla. Symbolen skulle kunna föreställa en person som sträcker ut armen och serverar något, men även salami som rullas in i papper.
Arbetskläderna i svart med div röda och vita detaljer. Sobert, seriöst och elegant.
