What a feelin’!
Here’s the cd-cover I’ve been working on quite hard the past week. I got pretty much free hands on what to do. When I listened to Susanne Fellbrinks album Vilken Känsla (What a feeling) I feelt it was a very personal – So my expression had to go the same way and become more arty. Here below are the artworks for the album. What do you say …

3D hand drawings
At the moment I’m designing a tourist map. To make the sights extra interesting I decided to draw the buildings in a bird’s-eye-view. I must say I’m pretty happy with these hand drawn 3D-buildings.
I were inspired by the beautiful buildings in Rome … How the final result will turn out I will share as soon as the map is finished.
Peter Mäkelä FÖR Norrlandspojkarna (Exhibition)
The ART mission for Norrlandspojkarna is over. Done. Finnished. The exhibition went well. Alot of people showed up, and the response was overwhelming. I feel proud, honoured and a little blue. Well, I always do when a large project has come to an end. I guess it’s because I get so emotionally envolved in the work process …
… Anyhow, the artworks are permanent, so if you didn’t get the chance to show up during my exhibition you can always visit the head office of NP (Heffnersvägen 1, Sundsvall), or see the pieces right here, right now:

Grand Finale Exhibition (invitation)

Peters mysterious rug collection (article)
This weekend I got a nice full page coverage in Hem & Fritid. I’m glad my old “home town” find my work interesting …
“He has a lot going on at the moment. The designer Peter Mäkelä recently got the Sundsvall Pride Honour Prize 2010. He got the prize for his pattern collection Pride Collection, that contains wallpapers, tray tables, chairs and other interior details. Part of the sales goes to the important work for HBT-rights. And at the same time he recently launched his rug collection CROP Carpets.”
At the end of november you can see parts of my rug collection at my Grand Finale-exhibition at Norrlandspojkarna. Hope everyone I know will show up and we’ll have a good time together. Can’t wait.

In Wall & Piece
Den sista utställningen jag hade i Paizano Expo fick Per Hellander och Ingela Lundwall stå för.
De visade sina alster på både på väggar och golv i form av foto av Per och omstylad heminredning av Ingela. En spännande kombination!
Ovan ser ni affischen jag formgav för utställningen …
… som jag blev väldigt nöjd med måste jag säga – ett skönt organiserat kaos blev det.
Nu ska Sundsvalls varumärke bli starkare!
Vi har fått det hedersvärd uppdraget att ingå i ett team som jobbar med att utveckla Sundsvall kommuns varumärke! Vi är gärna med och tycker till. Vi anser att Sundsvall är en unik liten storstad med massa att erbjuda …
Vad vi kommer fram till under processen kommer så småningom att redovisas. Nu ska vi sätta Sundsvall på kartan. Klart och tydligt!
Mission: Create art for a year.
I got a very special assignment recently. To create art for a whole year. A year! Wow. For the Sundsvall based real estate company Norrlandspojkarna (NP).
What I really like about NP is that they dare thinking outside the box. They’re not a typical real estate company. They are always coming up with new intresting ideas and projects. I’m honoured to represent them, for a whole year!
I’m very flattered that they dare and believe in a boarderless creator like me. I’m really looking forward to come up with new inventive artworks. I got pretty much free hands – which I think will result in a creators best work. The project is very extremly inspiring. So now I can’t wait to get started!
The co-operation is coming to an end in the autumn of 2010, and it will be presented with a grand exhibition. I hope you’ll be there. Or be square! ;)

Sundsvall har fått en skyline
Vi ritade en skyline över Sundsvall i ett uppdrag till Sundsvalls kommun. De blev så förtjusta i den så nu vill de använda den illustrationen exklusivt för att marknadsföra staden.
Den har t ex hamnat på de upplysta välkomstskyltarna längs E4:an. Kul tycker vi.
Norrlands Huvudstad™ starkt på G …
Idag fick vi ett trevligt besked att Sweet Williams och Paizano Design fått förnyat förtroende av NHS™. Det var ju vi som tog fram konceptet. Och nu har vi fått förtroendet att utveckla det. Kul!
